From North Carolina, Richard gained much fame as a stock car driver and then through his association
with Dale Earnhardt as driver, the Richard Childress Racing Team made NASCAR history,
dominating the Nextel Cup Competition for more than a decade beginning in the mid-1980's.

This painting reflects his interest in racing, winemaking at Childress Vineyards,
his family and interest in nature and conservation.

This painting was created through interviews and using photographs from his publicists,
racing museum, family and references from nature.
